VOLUNTEERS WANTEDBlackie

“I live at the shelter.  I am fuzzy and warm with a wet nose. If you have extra time and love animals, I need you.  You say you don’t really want to spend time at the shelter?  How about taking me home for a day to foster.  This is also a great way to find out if I might be that special pet that would make a great addition to your family!  I love your old stuffed toys, blankets, towels or sheets.  Sometimes you may no longer have your fuzzy friends at home and don’t know what to do with their things.  Well…I could use their old house, kennel or dog bed!  I always need food and water bowls, leashes and collars.  Please come visit me and bring me a treat when you come!”

CatOur whiskered friends at the shelter could really use some TLC, including volunteers willing to sew cage comforters.  These pads would provide much needed comfort to our adoptable animals while they wait for a new home. These would go home with the pet, giving it something familiar in a new and strange environment!  Please consider making one or more of these very simple to make comforters.  If you would rather crochet, “kitty balls” or “mousies” would also be appreciated.  You can pick up instructions at City Hall from the Administrative Secretary.  And please keep in mind, any donations of food, toys, blankets, rugs, etc. are ALWAYS appreciated and much needed!  Hope you visit the shelter soon and see the recently built outdoor pens!
